Hi, I'm Geoff Yost.
I work in political events & communications in Charleston, S.C.
I have helped plan high stakes political events, including the 57th Presidential Inauguration, President Obama’s 2012 Election Night celebration in Chicago, and the 2012 Democratic National Convention in my hometown of Charlotte. I graduated from the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. with a degree in Communication & Political Science. At the College, I was the editor-in-chief of the College’s student newspaper and led the paper's transition to an online-only format. In the summers, I worked full time in public radio. I am interested in design of all forms, writing, Oxford commas, and music. And I still miss high school debate.
I am also a freelance graphic designer & voiceover artist, available for immediate hire.
You should follow me on Twitter, and if we've worked together, we should connect on LinkedIn. I don't really blog, but I maintain a (semi-)regular newsletter and I invite you to subscribe. I post photos on Instagram every so often, and I check-in on Foursquare about as frequently.
Everywhere I've Worked: I am currently consulting and working on personal ventures. Most recently, I was the Marketing & Communications fellow at the Consumer Bankers Association. I was the assistant to the Director of Events & Ceremonies at the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee. I was on the national advance staff for Election Night with Obama for America after serving as the COO's intern at the 2012 Democratic National Convention Committee. I worked for SC ETV Radio covering the Spoleto Festival, edited The George Street Observer, PA'ed on CNN's Republican primary debate in S.C., shot some footage for The Colbert Report's rally, PA'ed some more for FOX NEWS, interned and made radio at WDAV, generally managed CofCRadio, waited for my friends at La-tea-da's Catering, and carried newspapers, sometimes by bicycle, for the South Charlotte Weekly.
